I know there was thread on this recently about ramped up stop points (for election reasons) but I cant find it.
Was going over the toll bridge north bound last night about 2am. There was something like 100 gardai lined up when I went past the toll booth bridge. They had cones out which channelled traffic to a guy at the end. Every garda stared me out of it until I got to the guy at the end who breathalised me, no worries, the days of even having one is over. They must have bussed them in from all over the province for that one, there were gardai transporters all over the place, with detectives standing around etc.. so I asked the garda if they were all there for just breathalising,
"Yes, an impressive deterrant isnt it?".
Now Im thinking to myself, yeah sure, impressive (and it was) but if you had 2 of them up the road from 50 pubs in dublin with full carparks wouldnt that be a better deterrant?
