Yesterday morning, I was driving to the Garage where my car was been serviced, in a car lent to me by the dealer. The car was fully insured but had no Tax on it. I was approx, as the crow flies, a couple of hundred yards away from the dealer, when I was pulled over by the Gardai. I told them the story that the vehicle was not mine but on loan from the Garage when i was advised that the car was not taxed. They asked me to wait and wait and wait as they wanted to seize the car. I waited for close to one hour when I phoned the dealer to collect me, who arrived and gave the keys to the Gardai. I collected my car and and passed the Gardai still waiting for the tow truck, a full hour and a half after I was first stopped. I committed no wrong doing (confirmed by the Gardai) and in the week were we have all heard about Students creating Havoc with Ragweek and drugs, drink etc.etc. There was three Gardai in the car, (2 male and 1 female), for which two remained in the car whilst this was ongoing. The car was owned by a Respected Main dealer, but meanwhile three Gardai wasted up to tow full hours in dealing with something that could have been dealt with in 10 minutes. Just to advise this is where your Taxes are being wasted and Garda time been used at the side of the road rather than dealing with crime issues !!

Absolutely true ...............The real criminals are laughing at the Gardai and laughing at us too

Very unfair on the Gardai.

The 3 thugs that robbed the family in Lackagh in Co Galway and got caught arent laughing. Every day we hear of unarmed gardai tackling these animals.

Well they certainly weren't tackling these animals sitting in a car on the main N6 were they.
