Home Garage burned down-is it covered?

This morning our garage burned down along with a classic car, ride-on mower, dryer, tools, bikes, oil boiler, oil tank and gas tank. Have no idea what happened.

It is not attached to house. We are insured with zurich, can't understand their policy doc.

Does anyone know if garage is covered under house insurance?
Are contents covered?

Garages are usually covered under house insurance, but you'll need to check exact cover details applicable to your policy with Zurich claims 24hr assist line. 1800 208 408. Make sure you have policy No's etc to hand. Did you have the car insured? If so, ring that company as well.

I have been ringing that no. all day but cannot get further than initial recording.

Garages are usually covered under buildings .... Zurich will determine what % of buildings it is.

I 'd be happy enough to have the rebuild and heating boiler covered.

The rest we will just have to do without. At least we alive and house is fine.

Would be in bits is garage wasn't covered as we couldn't afford to re build ourselves.

The classic car would NOT be covered. Everything else would appear to be either buildings or contents and should be covered, (possibly subject to average clause).
