Gap between soffit and Wall in new-build.

Hi,

We've recently had the facia's & soffits put on our new build (2 storey).
On one side of the house the soffit is fairly tight up to the wall, but on the other there is a gap of between 2.5 - 3.5 inches.
when looking up from directly under you can see the Joist.

I mentioned it to the builder and he said it'd be plastered in.
I don't think the walls are not straight, but cant be sure.

Is this something to really worry about ? or is it a case of the plaster will fill the gap and not to worry about it...

I'm getting the engineer out to look at it but want some advice beforehand.
