Galway to Carlingford

Hi

Heading to Galway to Carlingford this evening and seeking some advice on road routes. Ive printed off the route from AA roadwatch and they suggest going via Longford, Monaghan, Dundalk .

Somone else has suggested that I head for Dublin and take M50 North, M1, N1. Any advice greatly welcome. PS dont know the Monaghan route at all.

monaghan road is alright, fairly straight and signposted. dub M1 route is better roads While monaghan would be quicker as the crow flies
I wouldnt have thought thered be much in it taking the motorways. There is the toll bridges to take into account though so Id take the monaghan route..
