GAA Ticket prices and Attendances

Given the high cost of GAA ticket prices and the falling attendances at all levels of the game in all counties (no facts but I'm fairly sure that this is the case), I think that the GAA should be asked by it's members to slash the ticket prices for the coming year or two.

I don't have anything against the GAA and hugely respect them for investing in their infrastucture when the opportunity arose. However, maybe it's time for Headquarters to put in a few quiet years and allow the game to become more for the ordinary people of Ireland.

If games (Club, County, Underage etc.) cost at most €10 each to get to, it might go a long way to helping the huge number of unemployed men (and women) in this country, to socialise and enjoy life a bit more in these hard times. It would also be great PR for the GAA at a time when it is faced with huge pressures from other sports.

I would have great faith in the medicinal powers of a group of friends, a good match, a flask of tea and some sandwiches !!

Its all relative,

50 quid and more to see soccer and 45 to see rugby in croke park.....

Most i've paid to see GAA in croke park was 30 and i've been a good few times as my nephew is involved in inter county.

tea and sambos out of the back of a vw was the norm when Cavan played Longford in Pearse Park ( even when some could be home in 30 mins:D)

€10 would get you into most adult matches at club level. I know there have been moves to have more family tickets for Croke Park - God be with the days of lifting over the turnstiles, can we not go back to that? - probably 'elf & safety preventing it.

Charging over €10 for any club game is taking the p.... No wonder the GAA gates are falling.

Have a couple of friends that have start to bring their children to Shamrock Rovers matches at their new stadium. I can't remember the exact details but the season tickets are supposed to be good value. The Irish international games are just getting too expensive for them - €100 per game for a parent to bring one child.

I will be interested to see the prices for the new Landsdowne stadium.
