I watched the GAA Club Finals on television yesterday. Being the day that was in it I was very surprised to see that the President of the assosc. Christy Cooney did'nt wear any shamrock. As the GAA promotes all things Irish and cultural I am amazed that he did'nt wear our national emblem on the big day. Not even a green tie in sight!
Well done to the TnaG reporters at the game on their fine sprigs on display. The RTE newsreaders looked well also.
Meanwhile watching one of the American news channels it was lovely to see so many of the presenters with green ties etc, some of whom had probably no Irish roots atall.
If the President of the USA can wear the shamrock why not the President of the GAA?
