A Abbeys Registered User Messages 5 6 Mar 2017 #1 I bought 500 shares in Fyffes in 1999 for €1,186.93 including costs. The company split in 2006 so I then had 500 shares each in Fyffes, Total Produce and Blackrock.Blackrock changed its name to Balmoral in 2016. In March 2017 I received €1,115.00 cash due to acquisition of Fyffes by Swordus. I still have 500 shares in Total Produce and Balmoral. Am I liable for capital gains tax on the money I received for the Fyffes acquisition.
