When considering parent and your own future financial planning, inheritance, fair deal, people often say you should get professional advice. Is this a solicitor, accountant, tax consultant etc. or all of the above.

Tax first. Sometimes, to implement advice, a solicitor is needed. A solicitor is also needed for a will of course.

My advice would be for you to talk to the other person first about you're planning what they should do.
