future employment contract - proof of income for mortgage ?

Would there be any point in including a copy of a job contract starting in January (permanent) with a mortgage application or would that not count at all ? Going from one income to two so it's quite relevant but obviously the only proof would be a letter from the new employer.

Is there a probationary period?
Most lenders will require you to be with an employer 3 - 6 months and not on probation before they will take the income from that job into account.

Yes. Aletter from an employer saying that the employee will be promoted was recently taken into account, even though no date was given for the actual promotion.
