Furniture Costs in Budapest

I have to rent out a new apartment.

I have noticed that the cost of furniture in central Budapest is similar to costs in Ireland. I would have expected furniture costs to be cheaper in line with apartment costs and salaries. Where can investors source quality furniture at reasonable prices? Why are furniture costs expensive?

I am reluctant to use IKEA, as I think that I will need to furnish tastfully if I want to get tenants in the near future. Any views?

Furniture is typically an international product so no reason why it would be cheaper in Budapest than Dublin, London, etc.

Ikea has some good designs if you buy at the higher end. Kika is old-fashioned and expensive. Design shops are plentiful and sometimes affordable, particularly Material Center in District XIII. Make sure to put in an extra effort and choose good quality main pieces. e.g. Leather sofas, flat TV, etc..
