Hi Dow jones
I bought an appartment in Cannes some years ago..it was "interesting" but we got there in the end with the help of a Dublin woman who lives there.
i will speak to her if you like, otherwise Costorama or Fli are 2 shops that supply most of the stuff you might be looking for.
Also a shop in central Cannes called Monoprix sell delf, cutlery, even groceries,,, reminds me of the muched missed Roches stores in Ireland.

anyway all the best on your purchase..

We bought in Nice a few years ago. Leave yourself lots of time. Service in these shops can be very slow especially if your french is poor. There is alot of red tape especially with electrical goods, guarentees etc that takes ages to sort out. Sometimes goods are on display and have to be picked up at an out of town depot. Delivery charges are high and delivery times were weeks away when we bought. Very difficult to do it all in a few days.

My neighbour does this sort of work locally here in Savoie all the time.
I could ask her to contact you if you wish.
I'm not sure if she works as far as Cannes (about 7 hrs drive) but she might.
She's english and has lived in France for 10 years.
If you want her details pm me.
She'll be in the UK until Saturday and I can ask her permission to give her details then.
Best regards
