A few colleagues in work have recommended using a third party such as REA to source out the best mortgage/solictor etc advisor/package for me.

Looking on the REA site seems to look like a good service to use , however have already spoken to a person in First Active and he seems happy to offer me a 100% mortgage after looking at my last few months bank statements and pay slips and has asked my to ask my employeer to fill out a form declaring my earning etc which i've had done, but not given in yet as i'd like to keep my options open before committing. Can I use the likes of REA at this stage as REA, myfirstcastle etc seem work on the assumption that they are the only contact with the lender ?

I did enter the online mortage application on REA's site and tried ringing them to arrange an appointment but never seem to be able to get through on the Bray branch, I imagine they are swamped with FTB'rs like myself at the moment though.

Should I just go ahead and deal with the bank directly to save time (am afraid that the FTB market is about to jump a a bit in the next month or so and am anxious to get in asap before its put out of my reach) ?

Our cash-back deal depends on your submitting the application through us from the start. So if you haven't actually completed an application and sent it in to First Active with all supporting documents, you can send it in to us.

I'd imagine that REA would operate on the same principle.

yes we are the same as yourfirstcastle, your application needs to go through REA and the same applies, I can offer direct dial lines to our staff in Bray if you want to advise me directly as to who you are dealing with - we did run a campaign for FTB's in Bray last week and interest has been huge
