hi, i just cant afford to buy in dublin so have been thinking about buying in south yorkshire in england. i know the area very well and the house prices are very reasonable. id probably rent it out to students ( its a college town) and ive family there who could keep an eye on it
does anyone have any advice on getting a mortgage for this. ive no house in ireland to remortgage so would be a ftb but the house would be an investment. i cant find any info anywhere as it all relates to non ftbs
Contact IIB in Dublin, AIB's First Trust in NI and Irish Permanent International in the Isle of Man. All do non-recourse UK loans, up to a mamimum of 85% loan to value; therefore you will need to have the remaining equity yourself.
You could get a mortgage from a couple of lenders who provide for non-resident status. Mortgage Express provide a product for this and it is buy-to-let
