1. How do I find out if I got the First Time Buyers Grant when I purchased my home 4 years ago through my L.A.(don't want to contact them if possible). I know I got a form at the time that I didn't get to send back.

2. If I didn't get it, can I claim it now and does it fall within the 4 year claim back rule with Revenue.

Thanks

Contact the Department of the Environment and ask them maybe? The scheme was a DoE scheme and not a Revenue one. I'm not sure if you can backdate claims for the grant assuming that you qualified for it (i.e. it was not abolished before you closed your purchase).

If I recall correctly, you had to have the forms in before they closed the scheme. I know there were two of us in the office scrambling to get the contracts signed and the application in by the deadline. I don't think you can now put in a backdated application.

Yeah - that sounds correct. Sounds like if you failed to claim it before the scheme ceased then you cannot backdate a claim now. Ask the DoE if they have any record of you claiming it. Or not if you cannot cope with the disappointment of knowing that you didn't and cannot claim it now...

The first time buyer grant was abolished before I bought my first house which was in 2001, so it definitely wasn't around 4 years ago.

no, I got it for my house with final contracts signed in April 2003.
