Brand new Ceramic Hob... Less than a week installed...

Tefal Frying Pan has left a terrible mark on the ceramic.... Is there any way of getting it off???...

Thanks...

Darth...

Have you tried the ceramic hob cleaner available in supermarkets? This in combination with a hob scraper (basically a razor blade and holder) removes pretty much anything.

Thanks Leo....

I'll look into that!.... I get the horrible feeling though that there has been some kind of change in the plate... It looks like it has a rainbow type hue....

I'm SO annoyed with myself!... Not a week in the house, and I've ruined it!... Grrr!.....

RELAX Darth...you haven't ruined it. Some oil got on the glass and caught slightly, it does leave a rainbow hue. As stated by Leo hob cleaner is the way to go and either a non-stick scourer or a hob scraper.

It'll come up a treat :)

Wow!!!!....

Thank you SO much, ACA!... I hope you're right.... I'll get a Hob cleaner in the supermarket, and give it a go!...

Thank you VERY much for the reassurance!...

God bless...

Darth....

Well, you ARE a clever lot!!!!!....

Unearthed a bottle of Hob Cleaner, and knew that there was a scraper in the drawer...

Did as you suggested, and it has come up perfectly!!!...

Thank you all so much.... I'm grinning like a Cheshire cat!...

God bless you all...

Darth....

Harvery Norman do a great hob cleaner for €4, a 2 minute wipe of the hob with this cleaner (or any hob cleaner) after it cools every time you use it and I can definitely tell you that even years later mine still looks like new!

Good idea, Fizz....

I'll invest in some good hob cleaner... This has been a MAJOR wake up call for me... I'll be VERY careful from now on... Got away with it once... Doubt if I'd be so lucky again!....

ACA... I REALLY doubted your advice (sorry!)... But you were right.. I bow to your superior knowledge... Thank you again....

Thank you again, everyone....

I'll bet you will! One of the beauties of ceramic hobs, they really do come up like new so long as you use the correct cleaners and avoid anything abrasive. My 6 year old one has taken plenty of spills over the years and still looks like new once cleaned.
