Just wondering if the above would save me much time? It's a journey I make frequently but always go through town and we all know what that can mean. I know there is a cost, but even during peak times?

Especially at peak times..its €12..reduces from €6 to €3 after that!!
If you want to avoid town ...you'll also have the Eastlink toll charge too on top! A round trip every day would be €28 ...€560/mth
I occasionally use the Port Tunnel to go from the M1 to Dundrum, but I only make this journey on a Sunday evening, and the extra cost is worth it. It doesnt save a lot fo time, but the journey is so easy compared to the M50.
