Frequent Poster status

This is a general query for the moderators.

How many posts are required before "frequent poster" status is granted? The reason I ask is that I just tried to post a new thread in the "Letting Off Steam" section of AAM but was told (by a message box) that only frequent posters can use this section. I previously had a different username which became invalid when AAM changed to vBulletin. That also raises another question. Why was my previous account closed ?? I was in the process of changing jobs at the time of AAM's move so I did'nt frequent the site for a few weeks. Does this merit the cancellation of my account ?

Anyway, that's not a major issue now as I have obviuosly rejoined AAM with a new username. My main problem now is that I am restricted in my use of this site because the username Zapatista is not a frequent poster. However I on the other hand, the person behind the persona, am a frequent poster and viewer of AAM.

Moderator feedback will be much appreciated.

We all had to open new accounts after the switch to the new hosting company so it wasn't that your account was closed...rather it was everyones accounts needed to be started again.

I think that the idea is you have to make yourself useful to the AAM community in general before you are allowed to vent your spleen in public. Fortunately for me, and considering my financial knowledge everyone else, I managed to post enough useless c**p on LOS to become a frequent poster before they changed the rules!

Hi Zapatista

A poster at the present time needs to have at least 50 posts to become a Frequent Poster. There is also a reasonable minimum registration period required to get this title.

Your other questions have been answered above.

Welcome back.

Marion and Legend99 - Thanks for answering the query.
Purple - :D

I didn't realise everyone's account had to be restarted. The reason I thought it was just mine was that when I tried to re-register I was unable to use the old name as it was taken. When I tried to log on using my old details I was told the username and/or password were wrong. Like I said that's neither here nor there now. I like my new name. Only problem is, as I mentioned in my original post, I am restricted from starting threads in certain forums because of my lack of posts.

Anyway why am I worrying about this?! I off to Chiapas.
