Frequent Huggies Nappy stock out in Dunnes and delisting of Huggies wipes

I have noticed that Huggies in Dunnes and Supervalue frequently stock out.
Also the shelf space available to Huggies is only a fraction of that available to Pampers (an inferior product in my opinion).

Does anyone know why this might be?

I understood that premium brands in supermarkets had to 'pay' for getting more shelf space. If you don't play ball the supermarket can get at you by not stocking your product.
There is also the policy of letting certain brands restock their own shelves as a cost cutting device to the store itself as then they don't need staff to do it. Supermarkets are always at all kinds of angles. I once worked in Quinnsworth and the treatment of staff was unbelievable so I would have a prejudiced view of supermarkets.

Having worked for the distributor for Huggies in Ireland, this is generally down to manager's discretion. If Pampers are proving a better deal then they simply won't stock a huge amount of any other brand.

Amazingly, sometimes if a manager has an issue / personality clash with a particular rep they will refuse to order much from them either.

.... Because huggies are much better as pampers. Also the wet-wipes are better then the pampers wipes.

Yes Huggies are a superior product.

Their wipes do not tear or break up and do not provoke skin reactions (in ours at least!)

My local Dunnes has now de listed Huggies wipes!

Aren't the multiples mostly doing centralised ordering now?

i found huggies terrible for leaking when my daughter was a newborn, we called them leakies but I use them now she is older and has less explosive nappies!

Lidl nappies worked fine for us.
