My parents have had a house in France for the best part of a decade. Last week they received a huge bill for water charges, Father reckons they'd never been charged before, mother thinks she recalls a bill a few years ago. Never seems to have occurred to them that a bill would be due and certainly not one of this scale.
So, my question basically is, has anyone any experience of dealing with French water companies and negotiating a repayment schedule? Are they understanding or will they demand full payment immediately?
