Free Legal Aid - What happens if you start working

Hi,

Again on behalf of my friend. Seven months ago an application to Free Legal Aid was made. This was granted about two months ago for a Judicial Separation. For several reasons it is important that these papers are lodged in the courts as soon as possible.

My friend started working in a temp job a few weeks ago. Now Free Legal Aid want to know how much, etc. and do not appear interested in progressing the case. My friend still has 0 left at the end of the week as she is raising the children and paying towards the mortgage on her own to try and keep the banks away.

Does anyone know what the situation is in this case? Do Legal Aid only take into account income or actual disposable income?

The Board will seek to estimate what your disposable income for the year will be.
