Free Dishwasher-What to do?

I have a bit of a strange situation and not sure what else to do.

I purchased a washing machine from a store in Cork on Saturday and told them I would collect it from their warehouse on Tuesday as I only work accross the road from the warehouse. So over I went on Tuesday to be told they didn't have any in stock and wouldn't have it in till the end of the week. That's fine. Later that day the guy from the warehouse called to the office saying I was told to deliver this to you. This was great. I thought they had just taken one from someone elses order and given it to me. Took the appliance into the office and had a look at it. It was a DISHWASHER!!! And there was a different name and address on it. Rang the delivery man and he told me he is just doing what he was instructed to do. Rang the shop and they said they'd come back to me. In the meantime I got my washing machine but what do I do with this dishwasher??? I didn't order it, I didn't sign for it and the company don't seem interseted in collecting it.

Thanks

send them a letter, tell them to collect it or it will be disposed of within a month. after that, use it for yourself. I dont know your legal obligation but thats what I would do.

Why not contact the real owner of the dishwasher and let them know what has happened, you have the name and address. Then when the shop contacts you to collect it....just be as unavailable to them as they have been to you!.

Looked up the phonebook and the person is not listed and i don't feel like knocking on a strangers door.
