Hi,

Just a quicky to look for advice about free banking in Ireland.

I have a current account with BOI and recieve free banking as I fulfill the requirements for the minimum nuber of transactions per quarter etc. However, I'm emigrating in the next month, so even though I would like to keep my account here (for handiness and just in case! ), I will certainly not be reaching the target requirements so will be switched back to fee-paying after a while.

Are there any options about for free online banking in an Irish bank with no restrictions? Basically something that I could do international transfers in and out of.

Or, do I need to maintain one here at all?

Thanks!

I don't think there are too many Irish banks that would allow international transfers online - and I assume this is what you would be looking for if you are emigrating. BOI, AIB, NIB - and I believe that's it.

For free banking I would recommend PTSB, but they do not have international transfers online.

Also, you can just keep 500 Euro in your BOI account to receive free banking.

NIB allow international transfers online and their basic current account is fee-free as long as you maintain a credit balance.
