hi all,

thinking of heading to France for a week in the Summer. Will not be hiring a car while we are there.
Are there many/any places on the coast that can be reached by public transport from main airports?
Would like to be within 10 minutes walk of the beach, and stay in self catering accommodation if possible.

Any suggestions?

Have you had a look at the routemaps that both Aer Lingus and Ryanair have on their websites?

Nice has good cheap public transport - might be quite hot in July or August though?

Hard to beat Nice. You can fly direct from Dublin direct and the airport is very near the town itself. You won't need a car as the trains will take up everywhere and at about 2euro per trip. You can travel all along the coast -see Cannes, St., Tropez etc., Train travel very reasonable. Nice itself is beautiful - very lively - lots of good restaurants etc.,

Nice is a great hub to work from without a car. Also a lovely place to stay and enjoy.

Excellent, thanks for that suggestion. Looks like Nice it is!

Have looked at a few websites and looks as if there is plenty to do and see there for a few days.

What might weather be like in Mid-June or else late September? July & August look like they could be too hot for me.
