Former PPR - Mortgage Interest Relief

What is the procedure when someone rents out a property that was previously their PPR? Does the new landlord have to notify Revenue to cancel their mortgage interest relief? Or will Revenue automatically cancel the relief when the tenancy is registered with PRTB or when the €200 NPPR tax is paid?

telling the bank is useless as they are not obliged to listen.
