Form 11 - when to fill short term assessment?

Under what circumstances is the short term assessment section to be filled when completing form 11?

If you do not want a detailed assessment. No harm getting a detailed asseesment.

You can get the short assessment if, for example, you need ( for whatever reason) to show someone the tax liability but do not want them to see the income.

Generally I'd always request the normal long assessment.
