Form 11 Separate Assessment not populating for spousal income?

For the life of me I can't understand how Separate Assessment on the Form 11 works. And to be clear it is not Separate Treatment which I know is no good.

Helping couple do their return. They are down as separately assessed but even though the spouse's details are input on the form 11 it is not pulling in their income and on the calculate page it is only pulling in one personal tax credit and the earned income credit. Various messages via MyEnquiry have failed to yield a satisfactory response - the latest suggestion from MyEnquiries was to put the spousal income in under "Other Codes" which I couldn't readily find and even if I could I can't imagine how this would have updated for the unused spousal credits/ band allowances... The previous reply was that as they were separately assessed they only needed to enter the spouse's details not their income...(not helpful at all imo as that had already been done)

Can anyone enlighten me ?

I do my daughters Form 11, she is down for separate assessment and while her husband's name/ppsn etc details are prepopulated his income has never appeared on it in all the years I'm doing it.
