Hi,

AVC top-up relief
I want to claim relief for same. Anywhere I check says deadline is Oct 31st (rather than extended Nov deadline for ROS payments- which I would be doing). Can anyone clarify if can still do it

Nursing home expenses/remote working/medical expenses
I also want to claim relief on above, but more logical for own records for me to submit claim for these in Jan 2024- i.e. account for 2023 as a 12 month period. Assuming I do a return for the AVC as above now i.e. by traditional tax deadline (if still can), can I submit a second return for 3 other reliefs in Jan?

Thanks in advance -seems very basic question I know, but confused!

The time limit in relation to the AVC is for making AVCs in 2023 which can be offset against 2022 tax paid in your 2022 tax return. Assuming you are talking about the other expenses relating to 2023, you have to claim them on your 2023 tax return.

avc - you can do up until the online deadline - 15th Nov

"Tax relief for PRSA AVCs is based on the appropriate age-related percentage limit of the income from the employment in question. This is reduced by any employee contributions to the pension scheme relating to the employment.

You may pay a once-off or special contribution after the end of a tax year. This must be done before the following 31 October.

If you make this payment, you can choose to have the tax relief for the contributions allowed in the earlier tax year. This must also be carried out before 31 October of the following year.

When you use the Revenue Online Service (ROS), the deadlines for paying contributions and making this choice are extended."
