I have a word document that is password protected. I have forgotten the password. Does anyone have any suggestion how I can either change the password, or access the document without needing the password? Thanks
can you remember how long the password was? theres a ton of [broken link removed] out there for breaking MS passwords. Any of them that Ive used before gave you limited trial use for passwords up to 4-5 characters. Theyre usually cheap enough but you may get lucky on that site and find a free one.
Can you open the document as read-only? If so, try Save As and save a copy of it which you will then be able to access - make sure to save a new password with it.
Try opening it in OpenOffice in case that bypasses the password protection. Otherwise Google for hacks to get past it - there's bound to be one (or more).
