where can i get info about foreclosures on homes ie buying one of these properties?

This is such a weird question.

Bizarrely, Banks do not highly publicise the misfortunes of their customers so that bargain hunters can drive an even harder bargain than they might otherwise do in an already difficult situation. It is more likely that the houses will be offered for sale as usual through estate agents.

I don't think looking for a bargain means that it brings out the worst in people. There was someone on AAM a while back who told us that the banks actually offer these type of property to clients they know are interested and who have the wherewithall to purchase. Ireland is a very small market and you have the problem of the idea that a person evicted from a house mentality which means some people will not touch such a property which in turn means it is worth less and ultimately this is not good for the previous owner. The quicker and easier it is sold by the bank the better it is for the previous owner. If your daughter is facing foreclosure it is in her best interest to try and sell the house herself for the best price she can get and to the bank to agree to this. That way she has some control in getting the best price. And no it's not a nice situation to be in.

So are you trying to prevent her house being repossessed or are you trying to buy her a repossessed house?
