Ford Focus - Spring behind clutch pedal

Driving home from work yesterday I heard a snap and when I stopped to check what it was, there was a spring laying on the ground by the pedals. I presume it came from behind the clutch as there now seems to be no resistance which I press down and the past few days it had felt strange.

Does anyone know if this is a regular problem with Focus's and also how much will it cost to fix. I can drive fine just dont have great feel from the clutch.
 
Sounds like the clutch return spring has either broken or fallen off. Simple fix.
 
Thanks - could anyone recommend a garage to do this in Meath Navan area as I presume a main dealer will charge alot more to do the job
 
Not only that, they'll probably try to flog you an extra coat of metallic paint
