I want to put a concrete footpath around my house which is a renovated cottage however there is slope in the yard which rises about 12inches(after 30ft) from floor level. If I put a DPC under the footpath will this suffice? Any comments would be appreciated,
Thanks

I don't think so. There's no point in putting DPC under an outdoor path as its purpose is to stop damp rising - not much point if the rain is falling on it. A neighbour solved this problem by putting 4 inch pollyfoam sheets around the house, then laid the path and then hacked out the foam again, leaving a 4-inch channel for the rain to drain away. Personally, I would dig down all around the house for a foot and fill with hardcore for drainage and keep the path a good 6 inches from the wall.
