Foil Wrapped Door Frames

Have bought and am ready fit three foil wrapped white oak door frames from Dublin Plywood & Veneer. The packaging advises that the frame be sealed and lacquered before installation. Has anyone out there used this type of frame before and what type of sealant/lacquer would be recommended?

Looked at these when we were sourcing our door frames and achitraves, but was put off by 3 chippies, they hated working on it and advised against getting it. Sorry , no other advice .
