Flowers & Plants advice

[Firefly]

Hi all,

I am thinking of putting in walled box at the back of my house in the corner of my patio. At the back of it I'd like a mixture or flowers and plants and at the front I want to put herbs for cooking. The area is approx 3x2 yards and will be about 2 feet high. It will back onto our side wall so for the flowers and plants I'd like something that would grow up a bit with nice colours year round. I was thinking of some daffodils and rhododendrons but was wondering what else I could put in. The box is directly south facing.
