Could anyone recommend what is the best/most central area in Florence to stay , what 3 star hotels would you recomend.I checked all of the Florence and Italy treads , nothing recommended.
Also what are the sights /best bars/restaurants what location are they in?
 
I stayed at the [broken link removed]a few years ago. Good location, near the markets, Duomo and railway stations, but Florence is pretty small anyway.

It's your standard 3 star, nothing special, but served our purposes well.

I've used http://www.venere.com (www.venere.com) a lot for hotels in Italy, it's pretty good.

I stayed in a hotel last year just on the outskirts of Florence - Really nice 4 poster bed and it wasnt that expensive
