Floor Screed in Mayo/Galway

Got screed done by him recently after recommendations. I thought he and team were very good.
Based out of Galway but will travel I imagine.

Whats the advantage of using screed? Is it a better finish?? Easier to tile/floor?

Screed (coarse sand:cement ......... 3:1) and mixed semi-dry can be walked on after 48 hours, is less compact/dense than wet screeds, contracts very little and is less prone to fracturing. Insulation topped by chicken wire (overlapped by 6") gives a great finished floor for all coverings. This is what I've used for about 40 years!
