Flogas electricity 24 hour fixed rate (internet only)coming to end of term

Currently paying 21.5 cent ex Vat and wondering if this rate can be matched or improved . Export credit paying 18.5 cent plus Vat.

The flogas site states this rate is not available.

Is there any co offering a 24 hour rate at 21.5 cent?

According to them Electric Ireland offer 20.75c per unit ex VAT:

But you need to also look at the standing charges and total cost when comparing offers.

Flogas just confirmed that the new BWG affinity rate will be released mid March.

Axa Energia offer (don't need to be an Axa customer) is electricity at 20.61 cent ex VAT plus €217.08 annual standing charge. You won't find this offer on Bonkers.ie.


Off book deals from Flogas BWG (when available) and Axa Energia are worth looking at in addition to checking out comparison sites.

I am with Energia. Contract over since Feb 15th. Rural area and low usage.
Just had super annoying phone call with sales.

Was offered BEST deal - 27.60 (including VAT) 23% discount.

Said they do not do cash back but they did give €50 last year, to get me to come back to them from YUNO.

I was about to leave, and he went off phone with BEST deal - 25.09 (including VAT) a 30% discount.

He told me something like my negotiation was unreasonable. I was ringing to get the unit price to put onto Google sheet.

He said that he didn't know where I heard about AXA deal or what I was talking about (AAM .. thank you Sue Ellen).

He'll go far, AXA Plus are advertising it all time for the past few months.

Hi Acer,

I notice that when you proceed onto the Switch now option you are asked for your MPRN number. If you input yours you may be able to check if they accept Rural as well as Urban. I would be inclined to ring Energia again and hopefully get someone who knows their full options rather than the previous person that you spoke to.

Just spoke to someone in Retention team. They were not sure if AXA deal suitable for rural and urban. They spotted that AXA deal only for new customer.
They offer 26% for loyalty to retain customers but can go to 30%. They have no cash back offer.
The teams are:
Sales team
Retention Team
Pending Loss Team (who might have another offer during cooling off period, like Google nest, or €50 credit etc).

From the phone call, we figured out that I was moved to a Smart Tariff last year, which I didn't plan to do know had happened.
They are going to get someone more senior to listen to calls and get back to me.

Just FYI for anyone:
24 hour Legacy Plan - 28.56 (inclusive Vat)
So not a Smart Plan, but with a Smart Meter

Smart 24 HR plan (25%) - 26.88
So is a Smart plan, with a Smart meter and not one you can switch back off.
