Fixing Sky Remote

A number of times I have dismantled Sky remotes and cleaned the contacts inside, which seems to make them work again. I have noticed that there is always a lot of oil under the carbon contacts which I clean off. If some one has had experience with these, could you tell me is there a special oil that is put in to make them more responsive?

You want a contact lubricant, Maplin, Radionics and the like will supply. You don't absolutely need it, but it will protect the contacts from moisture/ corrosion.
