Fitting Velux Blinds

Looking at buying velux blinds online and fitting myself as it's considerably cheaper than buying and getting fitted from a curtain/blind shop.

Just wondering if there's much to fitting them? Have had 3 out it a while ago and looks like it's just a matter of fitting the side running brackets..?

Also if anyone has bought from www.b4i.ie how did they find them for service & delviery times?

Thanks.

I bought both ordinary and blackout Velux blinds and fitted them myself. No problem, at all. Just follow the instructions.

And a tip for you - no other blinds will fit as well as Velux's own brand blinds.

Good luck.

Yes it's velux branded blinds I'm getting.

Thanks for the info Lex Foutish

I got them from b4i.ie - no problems there. I also installed them myself but made a bit of a mess of them, a chink of light comes in from one side - nothing major just a bit annoying. To be honest, I'm rubbish at DIY.

I would ask your local supplier if they would install for free, they might be crying out for business and all they can say is no.

I have bought numerous vexlux blinds fromthe velux website and was replacing one recently and was able to buy a velux brand (identical to what was on the website) much cheaper in Heiton Buckleys. Worth shopping around.
