Fitted kitchen unit too small

Hi

New to AMA but have been told it's a great source of info. Hope you can help.

I've just had a new kitchen fitted but due to a misunderstanding between me and the fitter he has fitted a unit for a single under counter oven but I have bought a double oven. I only realised the problem this morning when the oven was delivered and the electrican came to fit it and discovered that an extra shelf had been fitted into the unit for the oven to sit on. This shelf needs to be removed in order for the double oven to go in. Have asked fitter to come back and see if anything can be done but as I have already paid him he's not in any hurry.

Has anyone had a similiar problem and if so it is possible to remove the shelf without completely dismantling the kitchen.

I'm stressed about the whole thing now as I have this lovely new kitchen all ready to use but no oven !!!

How is the shelf fitted on - can you not remove some fittings and just take it out - maybe if you posted a link to a picture it might be easier for someone to help you?
