Can anyone please advise what it involved or a good reference site on acting as a "Fiscal Representative" on behalf of a foreign entity.

If you hold property or commercial interests in a foreign country it is sometimes required that you employ a fiscal representative who is domiciled in that country (assuming you are not), to be financially responsible for your interests. So, if you decide to skip your responsibilities the authorities can turn to your fiscal representative for reparations.

For example, if you purchase a holiday home in Portugal and do not live there the authorities require that you appoint a fiscal representative who lives in Portugal to be responsible for your financial dealings such as paying outstanding IMI Property Taxes etc.

Can anyone please advise what it involved or a good reference site on acting as a "Fiscal Representative" on behalf of a foreign entity.
