FIS and short time working

hi,

we are due to put our FIS renewal claim in.

they ask for two pay slips and 2008 p60.

however my hubby is now on short time working for a 4 month period, (but could be extended) and whilst two of the payslips will reflect the short time pay, the 2008 p60 wont.

we can ask his work to put on a note to the effect that he is short time working, but will FIS deciding officers take into account the short time, and will they take into account that it is supposed to be for 4 months, but may go on indefinitely.

we are losing in excess of e700 a month at the moment due to the short time.

The reason I query it is because we could claim FIS or Jobseekers.

However at the moment FIS gives us a just a few euro a week more so we are better off claiming FIS.

If the short time is not taken into account we will be better to claim j/s a.s.a.p.

Has anyone been in this situation?

any info greatly appreciated.

You can claim Jobseeker's and FIS at the same time. Once his hours are over 19 per week, he can still claim FIS. His income from JB will be added to his wages to reckon a FIS rate.
