First Time home phone connection

Have been waiting over 2 months for first time home phone connection with eircom however still no joy. I have the number alright but no service inside house - phone line dead yet still being charged for line rental. Have 3 modules in houes. Eircom stating phone number is ok at exchange so therefore problem more than likely at demarcation point coming into house. Can't get engineer to come to house - raised various complaints with provider/even gone to comreg but no joy. Is there anything I can check on the outside of house. Have looked at protector block on outside. Cable coming out of my house is connecting to phone company's cable leaving house.

Are Eircom your service provider, or is it someone else?

BT service provider which means i'm going through them to get to Eircom.

Possibly a but late now (i.e initial costs etc), but have/can you consider voip? the likes of blueface? Cheaper calls, and BB into the bargain if that interests you...

checked out other possibilities in terms of wireless offerings etc however coverage is not applicable to my area in Kildare.
