I can really help on this. Was in same position this time last year
Info may be slightly different as I was buying as part of a 'we'
My OH moved from UK in May 2004 and I moved in Feb 2005, applied for mortgage in March/Apr 2005
OH was working in Ireland for almost 12 months so didnt want any empoyment record for him from UK, which was just a well really, that was partly the reason we were moving, he was self employed and not too busy.
They requested information to show I had been in continuous employment prior to move to uk for at least 12 months. I gave them the last 5 yrs P60.
They also requested bank statements from both of us for a period of six months prior to us coming to Ireland, OH did not open bank account here straght away was using credit union, they were not happy about that.
We both completed salary certs and the bank wanted comfirmation that there was no probationary period on my employment.
The wanted payslips from both of us from Ireland- would not consider anyting less than 3 months
All was going well until my 6 month contract job finished and didnt get another one for a few months, all sorted now though, getting mortgage if you dont have 12 here is more difficult, but just give them everything you have. If salary levels high enough and credit good you should have no problems
