First steps in finding a second hand car through a garage?

We want to buy a 7 seater trading in our old car so just wondering what the first steps are. We would prefer to buy through a garage.

Is it just a case of calling lots of garages near us (Dublin) to see what they have or are there better deals to be had in particular garages or on the outskirts of dublin or down the country?

The key post by RS2K is worth a look.

As a general comment I would say yes, outside Dublin prices are likely to be lower alright. Less choice though obviously. Do you have a model in mind?

Yes, this new interweb thing will change the way we do things alright. OP, have you seriously not considered looking on carzone.ie? You can limit your search to dealers, and it will save you a whole lot of shoe leather.
 
Thanks didn't realise carzone let you restrict results to dealers, I'll try that. Thought we had to just cold call all the dealers - so thanks, that'll help whittle it down.


Looking for big 7 seater like Galazy or VW Sharon I think.
