Firewire cable.... help needed

Would appreciate any advice on this. Have MiniDV camcorder and firewire to capture footage from camera but my PC has no port or slot for the cable. I saw what looks like a USB adapter for the firewire on E bay which could work but then I thought this may not work as I would need a card on the motherboard blah blah blah........ any advice or solution???

Buy a Firewire card for your PC (assuming it's not a laptop).

Cheers for that. I was afraid someone might say that. I would sooner resect someone's bowel that open the back of a PC. Ho hum. I need a computer surgeon.
