Fire Surrounds

Hi,
Our fire place is old and tacky. Want to get a new wooden fire surround with perhaps a marble backing and hearth. Problem is the fireplace is "non-standard" all the fireplaces in B&Q etc are to big!

Dont want to spend an absolute fortune on this, would it be cheaper to go to a specialist shop? Anyone have any similar problems?

Alternatively we could just paint it, anyone does this? At the moment its made up of tiles/shiny bricks, they are brown and cream.

Thanks!

this crowd are very good - will take away your old one and install the new in about 30 mins..

I bought two fire places from [broken link removed] a couple of weeks ago. Very good value and excellent service.

Highly recommend Fireplaces Direct in Drogheda. They have a huge selection to choose from and can easily cope with "non-standard2 settings. The wall where our fireplace is is curved, so we needed a mantle that was straight at the front and curved at the back - they got it spot on first time.
