In which countries are Irish banks willing to finance overseas investment in second homes?

Most countries, but it helps if you've a place here to begin with.

FOr UK properties what are the mortgage options? Apart from IIB, Capital Home loans.(IL&P)

I'm not sure, trying to find out.

Basically will an Irish bank give you a mortgage if you are investing in a home anywhere outside of the country?

Not on the investment property only as equity release on your own home

And would you need to have a steady income or would they give it to you if you didn't have a job, just remortgaged your existing home?

You would need to show income in order to be able to repay the mortgage.

Securing a mortgage for purchasing an overseas property is available from some financial institutions. The mortgage would be tied to a property in Ireland. 70% of Rental Income is considered in addition to other earnings when assessing your application for funding. Also the bank stress test your ability to pay in the event of a further 2% hike in interest rates. Over the next year it seems likely that there will be at least 1% hike.

Has anybody had any experience in obtaining a mortgage from a bank based in the country they were investing? I'm referring here in particular to non-EU locations.
