Thinking of going back to med school. Fee's are 12K per year. I've been working for a number of years now paying plenty of tax. Can I get anything back on my 12K college fee's?

Also, can my parents give me the 12K each year and get tax relief on it themselves? There doesnt seem to be any sort of grant/assistance at all for second time college goers. Any advise greatly appreciated!
 
yup. All you do is fill out a form. The max you can claim back for though is 5k a year.
 
Thanks for that. Just checked it out with them and apparently my parents can claim back 40% on E5,000. So I'll get 2K back on my 12K fee's every year. Better than I expected! Thanks again.
 
If you stop working mid year then file a P50 claim with Revenue (form available from www.revenue.ie) in case you are entitled to tax back and/or request a P21 balancing statement at the end of the year. Not sure if you can also claim some PRSI back if you stop working mid year?
