Filing System for Accountants

Curious to find out what type of filing system other accountants are using?

I use hanging files but I find they get damaged very easy, you cant print labels for them and the labels fall off very easy.

I've worked with filing cabinets in the past but they take up a lot of room, you have to open each drawer to look for a file and you constantly have to move files around inside the cabinets when one drawer starts to fill up.

Lever arch files are good and sturdy but again take up too much room and are only suitable for large engagements.

I'm not prepared to goo 100% paperless and I find that the paperless filing that I do is very time consuming, scanning, editing and renaming.

Can anyone recommend any filing equipment/systems that they've used in an accountancy of professional services firm?
